Colliers expands rural & agri team again

The new hire, Shane McIntyre, was appointed as the national director of rural & agribusiness and will based out of Colliers' Melbourne office.

Real estate company Colliers International has hired Shane McIntyre as national director of rural and agribusiness for Australia, according to a statement.

McIntyre will be based in Melbourne and joined Colliers from Elders Limited, an Australian-based agribusiness company, where he was a real estate manager.

Colliers has 500 offices in 67 countries, and has been investing heavily in agri sector and “connecting Australian agriculture to global markets,” the statement says.

“Trade in agricultural commodities is set to boom, assisted by the lower Australian dollar and new free trade agreements,” McIntyre said in a statement. “Over the next decade, Australia will experience unprecedented demand from global investors seeking more protein from a recognised safe food source.”

Last year Colliers hired Richard Royle as a director, based in Sydney, and this March, brought on Shaun Hendy from CBRE as a  director of valuation to work across northern Australia.
