Three out of the four ABCD agricultural companies have made strategic investments to take advantage of the alternative protein boom. When will institutional investors catch on?
The company has invested around $325m in plant protein ventures over the last two years, with JV partner PURIS and now Cargill’s Ohio facility the chief beneficiaries of the investments.
Cargill is exiting the cattle feeding business to free up additional working capital to grow its North America protein business.
The World Bank’s financing arm will provide a $37m loan for the construction of a new grain terminal at the Black Sea port of Yuzhny, a project whose partners include EBRD, MV Cargo and Cargill.
