The US public pension has increased its exposure to the asset class by more than three percentage points since September 2017.

City of Tallahassee Pension Fund has increased its allocation to agriculture from 2.55 percent in September 2018 to 4.92 percent in March 2019, a contact at the pension informed Agri Investor. This follows on from another hike in agriculture exposure from 1.61 percent in September 2017.

The $1.69 billion US public pension has a 5.0 percent target allocation to agriculture.

As illustrated in the charts below, the pension’s most recent commitment to an agriculture fund was $30 million to 2017 vintage BTG Pactual US Timberland Fund (Core Open-Ended).
