Insight hires new EMEA head from Aon Hewitt

John Rushen joins Insight from Aon Hewitt where he was head of EMEA investment services and has also held senior positions at BlackRock and Mercer.

Insight Investment, a European investment manager, has appointed John Rushen as Head of Institutional for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Rushen joins Insight in a newly-created role as the business expands globally, according to the press release.

He joins Insight from Aon Hewitt where he was head of EMEA investment services, and has also held senior positions at BlackRock and Mercer. He will lead Insight’s business development strategy in EMEA.

“John joins at a pivotal time for Insight as our international and domestic business continues to grow thanks to considerable client advocacy and an enduring reputation for delivering mutually agreed investment outcomes,” Philip Anker, Global Head of Distribution of Insight, who Rushen will report to, said in a statement. “His broad and deep experience means he brings unique and extremely valuable perspectives and I am sure will be instrumental in our dialogue with a broad range of investors across the region.”

In February, Insight hired Singaporean agribusiness Olam’s strategy head, Shankar Athreya, to become head of farmland investments.

The firm manages £397 billion across global farmland, liability-driven investment, fixed income and currency, global multi-asset, absolute return and specialist equities.
