Gothaer invests in natural capital

Gothaer commits $100m to Natural Capital Fund.

Gothaer Asset Management AG has invested $100 million in Natural Capital Fund, according to a press release from the firm.

The fund is one of the largest in the market focusing on natural capital with a target size of $1 billion and has raised approximately $325 million in capital. Managed by Climate Asset Management, the fund plans to invest in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand in forestry and sustainable agriculture.

Formed in 2009, Gothaer Asset Management AG is an asset management organization based in Germany and this is its first commitment to the agriculture asset class based on Agri Investor data.

Climate Asset Management was founded in 2020 as a joint venture between HSBC Global Asset Management and Pollination Group. The firm’s investment strategies are nature-focused seeking to work across landscapes to generate returns in both financial and in the form of carbon credits.
