Cuba is hosting a fair to attract foreign investors to its agriculture sector.
The International Fair Agrifood (Fiagrop 2015) will take place in Havana from 14 March to 24 March and will showcase opportunities from more than 70 businesses to potential investors.
Foreign exhibitors, directors or experts, especially in the ranching sector, who have an interest in boosting trade and businesses in Cuba are welcome at the fair.
The deputy director of the Fiagrop 2015 organising committee, Adolfo Aroche, says the quality of this year’s show will introduce visitors to a potential portfolio of foreign investment in Cuba. Representatives from 26 foreign companies will be at the conference, 12 more than last year.
Products from Bolivia, Uruguay, the US, Canada, Argentina, Germany and other countries will also be presented at the fair, according to a Cuban newspaper.
Other opportunities include the processing and commercialisation of milk and its derivatives, citrus fruit production and processing in the western Cuban region of Contramaestre, according to Ignacio Caraballo, the director of the Rancho Boyeros exhibition ground.
Organisers of the fair include the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, the Foreign Trade and Investment Ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Centre for the Promotion of Foreign Trade.
