International Fund for Agricultural Development has confirmed a $9 million commitment to Agri-Business Capital (ABC) Fund, a blended capital impact fund, according to a press release from the firm.

The fund is managed by Bamboo Capital Partners and will invest in the under-served segments of agribusiness value chains focusing on farmer organizations, financial intermediaries and agribusiness SMEs. The vehicle will target commercially viable ventures that can help create employment especially among the youth and women, as well as helping to improve rural livelihoods and also prioritise climate-smart projects that promote sustainable production.

As illustrated below, IFAD’s fund commitments have focused mostly on farmland and agribusiness vehicles in the Middle East and Africa.
