BlackRock appoints new manager to BGF World Agriculture Fund

Skye Macpherson gained fifteen years of portfolio management experience at Colonial First State Global Asset Management before joining BlackRock last year.

BlackRock has appointed Skye Macpherson to manage its BGF World Agriculture Fund, four months after she joined the firm, a BlackRock spokeswoman told Agri Investor. The $100 million fund holds investments in large agribusinesses such as Monsanto, John Deere and Agrium.

Macpherson has also joined Tom Holl and Joshua Freedman in Cheung’s previous position as co-manager over BlackRock Natural Resources & Growth Income Fund and the BGF Natural Resources Growth & Income Fund, whose investments include Syngenta Ag. She is based in London.

Cheung has been suffering from ill health since February last year.

Macpherson moved to BlackRock from Colonial First State Global Asset Management in September 2015, where she was a portfolio manager for 15 years.
